Our talented musicians got everyone into the festive mood at our one of our largest annual concerts this week – the Christmas Concert. Hosted at our brother school, QEGS, the audience packed out QE hall for two consecutive evenings as our choirs, ensembles and orchestras entertained and rose the roof !
The concert included performances from our soloists, choirs, percussion ensemble, junior concert band, intermediate strings, string ensemble, flute ensemble, major minors, folk band, electric ensemble, training orchestra, senior orchestra, cantabile, foundation chorus, double reed groups, barbershop, swing band, senior concert band, funk band and brass band. Behind the scenes, our dedicated student Sound and Light Crew, Stage Crew and Backstage Management Team ensured everything ran smoothly.
Featuring both junior and senior musicians from Wakefield Girls’ and QEGS, the evening was the perfect opportunity to celebrate all the hard work that has gone into our music ensembles throughout the term, as well as a chance for the wider Wakefield Grammar School community to come together and get into the festive spirit.
We are so proud of all students who have diligently rehearsed and performed over two evenings with such a variety of outstanding performances. The concert is a truly memorable event for students to take part in and for parents, relatives and friends to watch.
