Food & Mood

5th October 2022

We were delighted this week to welcome nutritionist Molly Wiseby into school on 3 and 4 October to talk about eating well and the impact of a balanced diet to improve wellbeing and mood.   Molly visited our school to encourage students to have a healthy relationship with food and to not label food as good or bad as to do that gives it unnecessary power.  We need to eat a varied and balanced diet to fuel our brains and bodies and to regulate our blood sugar levels so that we can thrive emotionally and academically.

All senior students gathered in the hall to hear Molly speak about Food and Mood, followed by all junior students who enjoyed a Nutrition 101 session with Molly.

GCSE Food and Nutrition students and GCSE and A Level Academic PE students enriched their learning with specific sessions delivered by Molly about gut health, fuelling the brain, training and recovery and supplements. They also enjoyed making – and eating – energy balls !

Thank you Molly.
