We are pleased to celebrate the achievements of our Year 13 students following the release of this year’s A-Level results.
This year, over two-thirds of pupils achieved A-B grades*, reflecting the high academic standards of the school. 36% of all grades were A/A*, and 19% of pupils achieved three or more A/A grades* – outstanding achievements for this ambitious year group.
Once again, Wakefield Girls’ students have secured places at their first-choice universities to study a wide range of disciplines, including Classics, Law, Psychology, Medicine, Finance, and Engineering. Prestigious institutions include UCL, Durham, Newcastle, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, Loughborough, Warwick, York, and Exeter, as well as universities in South Carolina, USA, and Tbilisi, Georgia.
Overall, 74% of university applicants secured places at their first-choice universities, while three students have gone on to exceptional apprenticeship opportunities.
These results reflect the hard work, dedication, and ambition of the pupils, as well as the support and guidance provided by staff throughout their Sixth Form journey.
Our accomplished Year 13 pupils include:
- Head Girl Ellie has been awarded A*, A*, A* in her A Levels and a place to study Art at Reading University, Ellie will build on the leadership, creativity, empathy and determination she has demonstrated at WGHS.
- Deputy Head Girl Alice attained A*, A, A in her A levels results and is going to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sheffield.
- Anja has been awarded A, A, B and is going on to study Management (Marketing) at the University of Manchester
- Emelia achieved A, A, A and is going on to study Architectural Engineering at Loughborough University.
- Madison attained A, A, A and is going on to study Accounting and Finance at the University of Manchester.
- Georgina celebrated A*, A, A and will now study Engineering and Architectural design at UCL
- Amelia earned A, A, A, B and is heading to the University of Warwick to study Classical Civilisation with Study in Europe
- Eve celebrates A*, A, A and will be taking up a place to study Philosophy at Durham University.
- Molly has managed, very successfully, to juggle her A level studies alongside her high performance Tennis achieving A*, A, A and is taking up her scholarship in America at Furman University, SC
- Vienna has banked A*, A, A and is now taking a gap year to decide what her next steps will be.
- Sophia celebrates success in her A Levels with grades A*, A, A and is heading to Newcastle University to study Combined Honours in Languages.
- Leina secured A*, A*, A, A in her A Levels and is looking forward to exploring Civil Engineering at the University of Warwick.
