An Unforgettable Trip to Wimbeldon!

2nd July 2026

On Tuesday 30th June, a group of Junior School girls embarked on our annual trip to Wimbledon, and what a spectacular day it was! The sun was shining, the weather was perfect, and the excitement was palpable from the very moment we arrived. It was a wonderful opportunity for the girls to experience world-class sport firsthand, and they were a true credit to the school throughout the day.

We were incredibly fortunate to have tickets for No. 1 Court, where the girls were treated to some high-caliber tennis during the Men’s and Women’s Singles matches. Seeing some of the top-rated players in the world in action was incredibly inspiring. Alexander Zverev’s match proved to be a particular highlight; the girls became completely engrossed in a tense tiebreak, which sparked a fantastic flurry of questions about tennis rules, scoring, and tactics!

Beyond the stadium seats, the girls fully immersed themselves in the classic Wimbledon traditions. We headed up Murray Mount (or Henman Hill, depending on who you ask or how old you are!) to sit together in the sunshine, soak up the vibrant atmosphere, and watch the Centre Court action on the big screen. Naturally, a trip to SW19 wouldn’t be complete without the famous strawberries and cream, which went down an absolute treat. We also paid a visit to the championship gift shop, where the girls took great care choosing souvenirs to remember their day by.

For me, the loveliest part of the trip was seeing the girls share this experience. When asked about their favourite moments, so many of them simply said that just being there and watching the tennis together with their friends was the best part of all.

From the court strategy to the sunshine on the hill, it was an unforgettable day that I’m sure will stay with the girls for a very long time. Thank you to all the children for their exemplary behaviour and enthusiasm.
