Year 4 Music Workshop at Wakefield Cathedral

23rd May 2023

Year 4 had a fantastic time at a “Making Music” workshop at Wakefield Cathedral. First they learnt about the musical influences in the Cathedral and then went on a “photo” hunt looking for musical images around the amazing building.

Harriet and Kabisha had great fun ringing the huge Cathedral bell and all the students melodiously played a selection of smaller hand bells.

A favourite activity was creating a group piece of artwork in response to listening to different pieces of music. The students used paint sticks to create their artwork with their eyes closed!

The highlight of the visit for many was the opportunity to play the fabulous Cathedral organ!
