What an extraordinary celebration of music we have witnessed this week. Our annual competition reached new heights, beginning with a staggering 180 performances in the preliminary heats. As always, the standard was impressively high, showcasing the immense dedication of our young musicians.
It was particularly wonderful to hear such a diverse range of instruments this year. Alongside many old favourites, our audience were treated to the unique sounds of the trombone, tenoroon, baritone, cello, and harp.
The Final provided a marvellous morning of music, celebrating the incredible talent within our Junior Section. We were delighted to welcome back Mr Meredith to adjudicate the event; his expertise and encouragement added a special touch to the proceedings.
Every performer took to the stage with fabulous confidence, determination, and joy. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a wealth of talent and such a wide variety of instruments played to such an exceptional standard. To all our musicians: keep on practising.
