The start of this week marked a reflective milestone for Year 11. On Tuesday, students enjoyed a final afternoon together before officially beginning their period of GCSE study leave.
At QEGS, the year group gathered for a celebratory BBQ, while at WGHS, students were treated to Afternoon Tea and a series of “special awards” recognising their contributions to school life over the past five years. The afternoon was punctuated by a karaoke session that provided a well-earned release of tension before the upcoming examination series.
These events serve as an important transition, allowing students to pause and celebrate their collective journey through the senior schools. As the focus now shifts toward the quiet of the exam hall, the spirit shown by Year 11 this week suggests they are ready to tackle the challenges ahead with confidence.
We wish every student the very best of luck in their upcoming examinations.
