We are Delighted to Announce the New Head Girl Team for 2026/27

15th April 2026

Each year, our shortlisted candidates participate in a competitive selection process, sharing their visions and aspirations with peers and staff before the final votes are cast. We were delighted to reveal our newly elected Head Girl, Head Boy, Deputy Heads, and Prefect Teams just before the half-term break. These esteemed positions carry significant responsibility and are instrumental in shaping our school’s evolving ethos.

As ambassadors for our School, this leadership team will hold a historic role as the first to lead us into the era of Queen Elizabeth’s, embodying its spirit, values, and unified identity. Serving as representatives of Wakefield Girls’ High School, and, from September, Queen Elizabeth’s, they play an essential role in inspiring our younger pupils to aspire to leadership.

As the dedicated voice of the student body, the team ensures that every pupil’s opinion is heard and valued, directly influencing school policy and practice. Grounded in empathy and inclusivity, they serve as approachable role models for the entire school, striving to empower every pupil and ensure that everyone in our school community feels truly valued.

We are delighted to announce that the new Head Girl team for 2026/27 are:

Elizabeth K-S – Head Girl

Saachi S – Deputy Head Girl

Charlotte A – Prefect

Freyja B – Prefect

Addi B – Prefect

Matilda B – Prefect

Maisie C – Prefect

Sophie D-B – Prefect

Maddie F – Prefect

Our remarkable pupil leadership team shares a common set of values:  to empower and lead with purpose. We would like to congratulate all of them on their new roles. It’s your time to shine, and we’re excited to see the incredible contributions you’ll bring to Wakefield Girls’ High School and to Queen Elizabeth’s School from this September.

We of course would like to send our utmost thanks to the current Head Girl  team who have excelled in their roles. They have consistently offered unwavering support to all our pupils, driving positive change, and spreading joy, all while balancing their academic responsibilities. These positions offer more than just leadership; they provide a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact and inspire the next generation of leaders.
