Yesterday, our Year 7–9 Academic Scholars took part in the inaugural School Team Maths Challenge as part of their Scholars Enrichment Programme. Working in mixed year-group teams of four, pupils tackled three rounds of demanding mathematical problems set by the UKMT.
The event brought together scholars from both QEGS and WGHS, and it was fantastic to see such energy, focus, and collaboration as teams navigated each challenge. The atmosphere was one of friendly competition, with pupils encouraging one another and demonstrating impressive problem-solving skills throughout.
After a closely fought contest, our champions were crowned: Luke, Ethan, Priyah, and Izzy. Congratulations to the winning team on an excellent performance.
We extend a huge thank-you to Mr Lister for organising and leading the event, as well as to our Sixth Form pupil referees, whose support helped ensure the competition ran smoothly.
This exciting new addition to the Scholars Enrichment Programme highlights our commitment to providing challenging, inspiring opportunities that bring our academic community together. We look forward to seeing the event grow in the years ahead.
