Celebrating International Women’s Day

7th March 2025

We are thrilled to be celebrating International Women’s Day and carrying on our long tradition of empowering our students and honouring remarkable women who have shaped history and society with their significant achievements. Today’s events, including a morning assembly with a range of esteemed alumnae as well as lunchtime careers talks which offered a range of inspiring and educational discussions designed to motivate our students, encouraging them to envision their futures, embrace their unique strengths, and strive to reach their full potential.

We were absolutely delighted to welcome back a panel of our inspiring alumnae, both in person and virtually, for an engaging discussion with our students. These accomplished women included Anshini Thakur, a 5th-year medical student at Imperial College London; Hilary Carver, Head of Event Delivery at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club; Sangeeta Unnikrishnan, a Government Policy Fast Streamer working in the Cabinet Office;Natalie Wright working at Mazars as the office managing partner and Head of UK family business and Kelly Nicoll, IOSH President Elect. They generously shared invaluable insights and personal stories from their career journeys, emphasising the power of collaboration and the importance of confidence and self-belief.

It is always inspiring to hear about the remarkable achievements of our alumnae and to learn about the diverse, and often challenging, paths they have taken. Their stories, while unique, share a common thread of positivity, empowerment, and unwavering dedication to their chosen fields.Their advice to our students was to embrace the journey over the destination and find your passion and purpose. Always making sure to take those opportunities that come your way, especially whilst you’re young.

International Women’s Day brings positive changes, allowing both our girls and students across the Foundation the chance to learn about inspiring women from history, helping to accelerate progress towards a more equal world for all. It is inspiring to witness our alumnae back in the Jubilee Hall, once students themselves in those very seats. Today, we celebrate all the incredible women who have paved the way for us, and we look forward with anticipation to the remarkable girls who will continue to empower others and make history in their own unique ways.
