On Thursday, October 17th, Year 6 girls embarked on an exciting journey to Eden Camp in Malton as part of their World War II studies. The trip offered a unique, hands-on experience, guiding students through the pivotal moments of the war—from its initial announcement to the victory celebrations at the end.
Blessed with pleasant weather, the girls explored the museum’s various huts, which featured compelling exhibits on the Blitz, life during the blackout, and countless historical artefacts that brought the era to life. A particular highlight for many students was the chance to discover military vehicles up close, learning about the roles they played during the war.
Adding to the fun, the girls also enjoyed a 1940s puppet show, enthusiastically singing along to wartime classics. The day wrapped up with a special treat: a lively dance performance choreographed by Mrs. Moorhouse, which left students and teachers alike buzzing with excitement.
The trip wasn’t just educational—it was a memorable experience that deepened the girls’ understanding of World War II in an engaging and interactive way.
