On September 24th, our GCSE Art & Design students had the opportunity to observe the renowned work of artist Antony Gormley firsthand and engage in a variety of art-based activities at Crosby beach.
In addition to observing the sculptures, our students participated in several hands-on art activities. They used charcoal to create dynamic drawings capturing the mysterious atmosphere of the beach. Students also exercised their sketching skills, using pencils to capture the unique shapes and shadows of the iron figures. Furthermore, our budding photographers had the chance to hone their skills, capturing the striking contrast between the sculptures and the natural landscape.
The Crosby Beach art trip was an invaluable experience for our Year 10 students. Not only did they have the chance to engage with the work of a renowned contemporary artist, but they also had the opportunity to explore their own artistic talents through various mediums. This trip has undoubtedly inspired our students and provided them with lasting memories and a deeper understanding of the power of art.
We are proud of the dedication and enthusiasm our students displayed throughout this enriching experience. We look forward to seeing how this trip will continue to influence their artistic growth and development.
