This morning we held a special assembly in Jubilee Hall to celebrate our Junior students who have been very busy completing lots of activities in their ACE Award. ACE is our Award For Character Education programme, specially designed for our students across Key Stage 1 – Key Stage 3 (Year 2-Year 7).
This programme supports our students to explore and express their character while building the important qualities, skills, and traits that will help them succeed in life. These include resilience, empathy, self-belief, motivation, persistence, self-control, and coping skills, as well as virtues like compassion, curiosity, civility, and determination.
Students have completed a variety of activities such as: learning basic first aid, washing a car, making their bed, cooking meals for their families, travelling on the train, catching a fish, cycling 10km.
In the assembly we enjoyed demonstrations from Megan, who performed the ABC’s of first aid on her friend Holly, and Maddie who showed how to put on a duvet cover, as she is now very experienced in making her bed! All students who had completed a large number of activities in their ACE Award received a special ACE sticker, either bronze, silver or gold.
Well done to the following students who received ACE recognitions this morning:
Bronze: Simra, Gia, Sophia, Kavishna, Lexi, Phoebe, Eva A, Leena.
Silver: Grace, Aoife, Betsy, Avi, Jiya, Imy, Tilly, Lily, Anais, Olivia, Winnie, Ruby, Orla, Isla, Penelope, Layla, Priyah.
Gold: Gracie, Daisy, Evelyn, Abby, Umayyah, Tilda, Luisa, Maddie.
We have been so impressed with our students’ development over the past few months as they have embarked on their ACE Award. They have learned important life skills, stepped out of their comfort zones and displayed resilience in the face of challenges. We are so excited to see and hear more about the experiences, achievements, and adventures that our students will undertake as they continue with their ACE Award.
