Theatre Trip to Watch ‘The Crucible’

13th March 2024

Year 10 – Year 13 GCSE and A-Level Drama students were excited to travel to Sheffield Crucible Theatre to see The Crucible by Arthur Miller on Tuesday 12th March.

It was an excellent opportunity for our Year 11 GCSE Drama students to observe their examination set text in performance, and support all our students in preparing to write about live theatre which is a part of both GCSE and A Level examinations.

The Crucible is a dark but captivating play focusing on the events of the infamous Salem witch trials. This new version, directed by Anthony Lau, used an innovative staging and style to give this classic tale a modern resonance. All of our students were inspired by the creativity and innovation of the whole production which helped make this long play engaging and suspenseful.
