GCSE Result Celebrations

24th August 2023

Students, parents and staff from Wakefield Girls’ High School, one of the North’s top 10 independent schools, are celebrating GCSE results with over a third of all the grades at 8 or 9. The school is proud of the achievements of all of its students and there have been some exceptional individual performances.

Heidi-Jayne Boyes, Head Teacher says:

“I am hugely proud of our Year 11 students for everything they have achieved during their time here at Wakefield Girls’. Our Year 11 students make a valuable contribution to school life, combining their academic studies with leadership roles, a wide array of extra-curricular activities and personal development.  Today, I applaud all of this alongside the commitment, maturity and grit they have displayed while studying for their GCSEs.

I would like to thank my talented colleagues who have consistently provided empowering teaching and unwavering support. I am sure you will agree with me that both students and teachers deserve congratulations.

We look forward to seeing Year 11 further progress their academic, personal and professional skills, values and interests in Sixth Form, as well as their friendships when they are joined by talented new students from other schools. Year 11 will join Sixth Form in a position of strength and we look forward to supporting their personal and professional development while working with them to achieve outstanding academic results at A Level.”
