Sixth Form Performance at Camphill

3rd March 2023

Year 12 A-level musicians from both Wakefield Girls’ and our brother school QEGS, travelled to Camphill Community College in Newmillerdam to perform to a full audience of students and staff in the Auris Concert Hall! This annual trip is an opportunity for music students to play a range of music from Jazz, Rock and Classical genres.

Over the course of the afternoon, the performances included:

Reuben performing Message in a Bottle by The Police, on drums.

Harrison performing Notturno Op.54 No.4 by Gireg, on piano.

Isobel performing Sunstreams by Ian Clarke and Les Ecureuils by Henri Busser, on flute.

Douglas performing Misty by Eroll Garner, on trumpet.

Kumbi singing O Mistress Mine by Roger Quilter and Dein Blaues Auge by Brahmns.

Davey performing Iargo Al Factotum by Rossini, on euphonium.

Daniel performing I Giorni by Ludovico Einoudi, on piano.

Zaima performing Ronald Binge: Concerto and Movement 3 Rondo, on saxophone.

Sara singing Black Coffee by Burke and Webster.

Finally, there was an ensemble, where the group performed Aint’ Misbehavin’ by Fats Waller and Harry Brooks.

The concert was recorded and provides essential performance experience for students to reflect and build on.
