On Thursday 24 November 2022,  Design & Technology Sixth Form students came together in our Maker Space to tune into the Green Energy Conference from The Arkwright Team in collaboration with the Fuellers Company.

During the day students benefitted from sessions delivered by speakers from across the industry together with live Q&A, looking at:

1. Current energy sources and power generation, its impact, and challenges the world faces as a result
2. Future energy demand, what factors are driving this, and how does it affect us
3. Sustainability. What energy generation options are available to us as a society now and over the next 100 years
4. How can you help? What can individuals do to play their part in a more sustainable world and what does this look like long term

Several of own recent alumnae have been awarded the prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarships.  Every Scholarship is sponsored by a commercial company, trade association, university, professional institution, armed service, government organisation, worshipful company,  charitable trust or personal donor. This means that support is offered in various different ways, including valuable hands-on work experience, support for curriculum projects and personal mentoring to help with studies and career planning.
