Wakefield Girls’ recognised as one of the top independent schools in the North

3rd December 2021

The Sunday Times has released its Parent Power School Guide 2022 recognising Wakefield Girls’ as one of the best performing schools in the North.

Parent Power, acknowledged as the most authoritative survey of the country’s highest-achieving schools, ranks Wakefield Girls’ in 6th place in the region.

Head Heidi-Jayne Boyes said, “This is a wonderful recognition for our staff, students and parents. I am proud of our Wakefield Girls’ community every day and thrilled that we have been recognised as one of the top independent secondary schools in the north. Success is not limited to exam results at Wakefield Girls’; we will continue to ensure our students are intellectually and socially confident, work-place and life-ready with a global outlook and concern for others. We will always move closer to our vision of everyone becoming the best version of themselves.”

This year, Parent Power has analysed assessment data from 2017-2019. Editor Alastair McCall said “Parent Power provides parents with a more reliable guide to academic achievement in schools today”.
