ISI Regulatory Compliance Inspection Report 2017

The recent ISI Regulatory Compliance Inspection Report highlights that WGHS Senior School is fully compliant in all areas inspected:

Quality of education provided
Spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils
Welfare, health and safety of pupils
Suitability of staff, supply staff and proprietors
Premises of and accommodation at school
Provision of information
Manner in which complaints are handled
Quality of leadership in and management of the school

As this inspection was of compliance only, the report, which is standardised and formulaic, states simply if standards are met or not met. Qualitative judgements are not formed and it makes quite dry reading.

The School is delighted with the outcome of the inspection and the feedback during the process from the inspection team was excellent. In their feedback, the inspection team commented on the “friendly, kind and open atmosphere”; on the school’s broad and balanced curriculum, which they described as being highly suited to the ability of our pupils, and on the pride those in the WGHS community have in their school. The inspectors described our pupils as “charming, polite and engaging” and so the School is delighted that the inspectors clearly got a true flavour of WGHS life.

Independent Schools' Inspectorate’s Report 2012

The Independent Schools' Inspectorate’s Report for Wakefield Girls’ High School, Senior School confirmed many aspects of the educational experience as excellent.

Girls' achievements, the range of curricular and extra-curricular activities, spiritual, moral, social and cultural development as well as links with parents were all deemed to be quite outstanding and fully deserving of the highest possible rating of Excellent

The inspection team was hugely impressed with both the parental and student responses to their pre-inspection questionnaires. The level of support for the school and all aspects of educational offering were quite exceptional and rarely had the Inspectors come across such a feeling of well-being amongst parents and pupils alike.

This very positive Report about Wakefield Girls’ High School Senior School, reinforces its position as one of the very best schools in the North of England.

“Pupils enjoy a happy school environment in which their personal development is outstanding. They show genuine concern for each other, reflecting the excellent relationships that characterise the whole school community.” ISI February 2012
