Junior students kicked off Mental Health Week 2025 with a special assembly. School Councillors and Mrs. Hutchinson introduced the week’s theme, “Know yourself, grow yourself,” and discussed practical ways to support mental wellbeing. Mrs. Hutchinson led a session exploring the importance of understanding and acknowledging feelings, and how the choices we make impact our emotional connection. Students shared their experiences with different emotions and brainstormed strategies for navigating these feelings as they grow. The assembly provided a positive and engaging start to the week’s focus on mental health.
The week continues with a variety of classroom activities throughout the week. Students will have further opportunities to explore the theme “Know yourself, grow yourself” and learn practical strategies for maintaining good mental wellbeing. The week culminates in SCARF Day this Friday, where students are encouraged to wear a scarf to school in support of mental health awareness. SCARF Day will provide a dedicated time for students to reflect on the importance of mental health and consider the core values of the week: Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience, and Friendship.
