Students from Drama exam classes in years 10 to 13 had a fantastic experience attending a performance of KENREX at the Sheffield Crucible, a highly acclaimed live theatre production. The play, based on the true-crime story of a 1981 murder in Skidmore, Missouri, starred Jack Holden, who impressed the audience with his exceptional ability to portray multiple characters in a single performance. Holden’s dynamic, chameleon-like acting, combined with a live soundtrack by John Patrick Elliot, created an unforgettable, high-energy theatrical experience.
The performance stood out not only for its gripping storytelling but also for its innovative use of live theatre, blending culture, media, and art in creative ways. Students found the experience inspiring, encouraging them to think more imaginatively about their own work. Students will write about the experience as part of their preparation for their exam, this will hopefully inspire them to get more creative with their own original work.
