KS3 Production of Frozen Jr!

6th June 2024

The two evening performances were the cumulation of months of hard work in rehearsals. Both cast and crew showed brilliant commitment to their craft as they gave up two weekends and several evenings to rehearse and ensure a brilliant spectacle for their family and friends.

The Disney classic has been adapted slightly for the stage, based on the 2018 Broadway musical. The musical brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life. It’s a story of true love and acceptance between sisters, and expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood.

There were great performances by everyone but particular mention should go to a few standout portrayals. Harriet (Y7) perfectly embodied the spirit and determination of Anna. Lucy in Year 8 impressed audiences with her powerful performance of Elsa, while Ruby in Year 9 showed excellent puppetry skills to bring the reindeer Sven to life!

There were lots of staff working tirelessly behind the scenes to support this production. The brilliant Mr Meredith and Mrs Bentham coached our singers in the challenging songs. Thanks also to Mr Noble and Student SALT Leader Morgan (Y12) who provided excellent sound and lighting, while Dr Durell supported our stage crew to ensure everything ran smoothly and safely.

Last but not least, a big thank you to our wonderful parents who supported their sons and daughters! You should be very proud of what they have achieved – I know I am!
