Tuesday 25th March marked our annual Junior Spring Concert, which was an amazing celebration of all things musical in the Girls Junior Section.
An enormous variety of music was provided from our instrumental and vocal ensembles:Junior Brass Group delighting us with Wallace and Gromit Theme, Junior Percussion Ensemble giving a rousing and rhythmic performance, Junior Flute Group giving an elegant performance, Suzuki Violins playing a vivacious Hungarian Hop, Four Hands, our group for advanced pianists playing both fours hands and six hands pieces!
Our ever expanding Junior Concert Band gave the concert a lively start, Junior String Ensemble giving a highly entertaining and upbeat performance, Under 9 Choir and Under 11 Choir singing beautifully in parts, with the Under 11 Choir giving an outstanding performance of Earworm. We once again invited our Year 2 Choir to come and perform and they sang with so much verve and energy. We also heard from our two highly talented Young Musicians of the Year 2025, Rebecca on cornet and Lauren on Drum Kit.All our pianists relished the opportunity to perform on a grand piano!
The concert culminated in a massed choral item involving all 130 pupils that were taking part and of course with an opportunity for parents to sing along as well. A real night to remember, and so easy to forget that the pupils involved are only juniors – we are lucky to have so much talent and musical enthusiasm in our school.
