On Friday 7th March, pupils from across the Wakefield Grammar School Foundation joined thousands of individuals across Wakefield to participate in the moving ‘Hands Across Wakefield’ event, a powerful display of unity and appreciation. Students and staff from Pre- Prep , Wakefield Girls’ and QEGS linked hands, forming a continuous chain from Westfield Road to St. Johns, demonstrating our collective support for the Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust and its 125 years of invaluable service .
From our youngest Pre-Prep pupils, taking their first steps in community engagement, to our dedicated Year 9 students at Wakefield Girls’ and QEGS, every participant played a vital role in this significant occasion. The event commemorated the 125th anniversary of the Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust, celebrating the invaluable contributions of its dedicated staff and the vital services they provide to our community.
The ‘Hands Across Wakefield’ initiative served as a reminder of the strength of our community and the importance of supporting our local healthcare services. We are immensely proud of our students’ participation and their commitment to making a positive impact.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to all who contributed to the success of this inspiring event, including all of the staff, students and a special thank you to Mrs Phillips for organising our part in this event and making this powerful demonstration of unity possible. We are honored to have played a part in celebrating the remarkable legacy of the Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust and the help it gives to our community every day.
