On Saturday 7 December, the 6 foundation teams entered in this years LEAP competition were in action at the Merrion Centre Christmas Trade fair. This was the first whole competition trading event so saw our teams competing with fellow 6th form teams from across Yorkshire for the 1st time. Selling a range of products our teams earned a combined total of nearly £800 through their day’s trading.

In addition to sales the teams also had to impress a panel of judges with the visual appeal of their stalls and product, their sales technique and professional approach to the public. A special congratulations should go to Boxful, who in addition to their sales of £180, were awarded the Merrion Centre Award for being the best overall team at the event. This is the 3rd year in a row where a foundation team has secured 1st place at the Merrion Centre and our thanks go to the Lady Mayoress of Leeds for presenting the prize on the day.

The teams will also be returning to the Merrion Centre on Saturday 8th February where they will put the lessons learned from Saturday into practice.
