This week, students participated in Wellbeing and Anti-Bullying Week, which focused on promoting empathy, respect, and the importance of looking out for one another. The theme of the week was to celebrate individuality and to encourage students to “choose respect” in their interactions with others.
The week kicked off with a workshop on the Zones of Regulation, a program designed to help students understand and self-regulate their emotions. Through engaging activities, students learned how to identify their feelings and categorise them into different emotional zones. They explored practical strategies for managing their emotions and transitioning between zones, allowing them to better navigate their feelings and improve emotional awareness.
In the Junior Section, Year 5 and 6 girls participated in a workshop focused on the ‘Girls on Board’ friendship strategy. This program, aimed at girls aged eight to eighteen, teaches them how to handle friendship challenges independently. The workshop included a variety of activities that helped the girls recognize different types of behaviour within friendship groups and understand how to address common friendship issues. By practising problem-solving techniques, the girls not only strengthened their conflict-resolution skills but also enhanced their communication abilities, fostering a positive and supportive environment for all.
Overall, the week was a valuable opportunity for students to develop key emotional and social skills, encouraging them to foster positive relationships and respect for one another.
