Year 10 Takeover Sixth Form!

3rd July 2024

This week, our Year 10 students had the exciting opportunity to immerse themselves in Sixth Form life, exploring the academic and social aspects of Years 12 and 13. This event, meticulously organised by our dedicated Sixth Form team, allowed Year 10 students to engage in meaningful conversations about A Levels with their senior peers who are currently studying these subjects. They were able to ask questions and gain firsthand insights into the Sixth Form experience.

The event featured special contributions from Head Girl Ellie, Year 12 student Madison, and alumna Amelia Hunter-Wilkinson, who  spoke of their personal journeys and experiences in Sixth Form and shared invaluable advice they wished they had known when they began their A levels.

Breakout sessions were an integral part of the day, offering workshops on a variety of topics including ‘managing self doubt’, ‘developing essential skills for the workplace’ and ‘developing self awareness and resilience’. We extend our thanks to our alumnae Georgina Mathery (business owner), Lesley Bland (consultant midwife), and Alicia Collinson (lawyer), for facilitating these insightful career workshops. Their involvement has provided our students with a deeper understanding of potential future pathways and enriched their educational experience.

The end of Year 10 marks the ideal time for students to think about the future, reflecting on end of year exams and beginning thinking towards A levels, apprenticeships, and beyond.
