On Thursday 6th June we opened our doors to exhibit our wonderful collection of student artwork.
The exhibition displayed artwork showcasing the impressive talents of all our students from Year 3 to Year 13. The exhibition was a testament to the creative journey that each student undertakes, from their initial foray into art in their creative curriculum lessons in Year 3 to the advanced projects of our A Level Fine Art students.
At Wakefield Girls’ we really value and appreciate the importance of studying art; plenty of academic research has demonstrated the positive impact of studying and creating art on various aspects of young people’s personal growth and wellbeing, including academic, social, and emotional development.
We were delighted to shine a spotlight on our student artists, celebrating inspirational projects and welcoming family, friends and past students of the Foundation to take a look at the brilliant talent we have in school. We hope everyone who attended enjoyed the experience and got some inspiration from the wide variety of art on display.
