This morning, everyone came together in Jubilee Hall to thank our outgoing Head Girl Team and our Heads of House, celebrating their achievements and hard work throughout their time at Wakefield Girls’.

It is this occasion – our expression of thanks and gratitude to the outgoing Senior Prefect team, Deputy Head Girl, Head Girl and Head of Houses – that marks the start of our Year 11 and 13 students preparing to leave school and enter our alumnae community. 

In their role, this team of young people have  given up a great deal of time and energy to give something back to our school, using each other’s skills to the team’s advantage to ensure they fulfil the expectations of their roles with responsibility, pride, humour and integrity.  They have represented and cared for our whole school community over the past year,  dedicating a great deal of time and energy to give something back to our school, using each other’s skills to the team’s advantage to ensure they fulfil the expectations of their roles with responsibility, pride, humour and integrity.

Headteacher, Ms Boyes thanked each prefect individually highlighting personal achievements and contributions to school.

“I sincerely hope that being a student of any age at Wakefield Girls’ means something to you because this is a really special place, even more so when you get to those final years and you are the seniors, the oldest in the school, the wiser ones – perhaps – and role models. We are proud that our sixth form remains a core part of our school yet offers great independence, exploration and a shift of relationship with teachers to still being purposeful yet relaxed. Every Year 13 who will leave us this year has contributed something to our school over the years and I thank them for this and hope they are proud of all they have achieved. Year 13 – our school is a better place for having you all in it. We will be certain to celebrate you all next week following on from your assembly to us all”.

Thank you Head Girl Team of 2022/23 for all your ideas, support and bringing our Foundation community closer together, executing your duties with tact and skill and leaving no stone unturned.
