Following on from National Careers Week 2024 4-9th March 2024, Wakefield Grammar School Foundation hosted our biennial Careers Convention, this year hosted at brother school QEGS.
Comprising 29 stalls, with guests including Higher Education Institutes, apprenticeship providers and armed forces, it was a brilliant opportunity for students in Wakefield Girls’ and QEGS to gather more information about possible future paths and to develop their networking skills as they engaged with potential employers… There were also six lunchtime symposiums in fields including: Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil), Pharmacy, Law and Law Enforcement.
Students from Years 8-10 were invited to attend from 2pm onwards, whilst all other students were warmly welcomed from 4pm onwards.
Our thanks go to all alumni who generously volunteered their time, and shared their experiences and advice with students. It is a valuable and wonderful opportunity for students to hear first-hand about the many career experiences, as they begin to plan their next steps after Wakefield Girls’.
