House Massaoke Celebrations

14th December 2023

On Wednesday 13th December as the Autumn term is gradually coming to a close, our House leaders brought together our whole school community for some feel-good fun.

Our House groups united in Jubilee Hall to participate in a ‘House Massaoke’ – a karaoke session en masse! As with all House events, there was an element of competition: to see which of our Houses had the best vocals and which house was the loudest! Each house sang one song which was randomly selected and then there was a whole school singalong at the end whilst the judges deliberated.

In classic Wakefield Girls’ style, the students truly put on a great performance, singing well-loved Christms songs. We’re confident that everyone in Wentworth House could hear the impressive (read: loud) singing! It was a thoroughly enjoyable get-together, supporting across-year connections and friendships.

We enjoyed performances from our Houses singing…

Mackie: Merry Christmas Everyone, Shakin Stevens

Lee: Last Christmas, Wham

Clayton: Santa Tell Me, Ariana Grande

Blakey: Do they know it’s Christmas, Band Aid

Our esteemed judges Head, Ms Boyes, Director of Junior Section Mr Rowley, Mrs Fisher and Ms Haigh, had the difficult job of deciding which House performed the loudest and most impressively. Congratulations to Clayton House who were declared winners of the Massaoke and won 103 House points!
