On Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th December our Foundation musicians raised the roof of Queen Elizabeth Hall, with their wonderful performances.
The hall was lit with beaming faces as parents and friends of the Foundation watched with pride as their children performed an array of Christmas and non-festive tunes. Amidst the beautiful Christmas tree and other decorations, their performances truly shone.
The first concert included performances from: Brass Band, Nonsensical, KS3 Choir, Funk Band. Senior Concert Band. Percussion Ensemble, Intermediate Swing Band and Senior Orchestra.
On Tuesday the event was equally brilliant, including performances by: Foundation Chorus, Electric Ensemble, Intermediate Concert Band, Junior Swing Band, Mandible, Senior String Orchestra and Swing Foundation.
Congratulations and thank you to all our talented students for performing, it is such a lovely way to round off this year’s musical calendar. Similarly, thank you to our student-led Stage crew and Sound and Light crew for their help in running such a fabulous event.
Music is a special feature of life at Wakefield Girls’ and has a unique ability of bringing our school community together to celebrate our student’s aptitude and share the joys of music with our community. We look forward to many more musical events in 2024.
