On Friday 17th November we took 46 Year 5 and 6 students to represent Wakefield Girls’ Junior Section in a hockey fixture. Our Under 10 and 11 A, B, and C squads were in action playing The Grammar School at Leeds.
There was some excellent hockey played by all students who worked hard to put the skills into action that they have been working on over the past few weeks. We had some good battles and all matches were closely contested. However, the results on the day just didn’t go our way.
This fixture was always going to be a tough one as GSAL are one of our main competitors. Despite the challenge our students’ persevered and showed great sportsmanship throughout.
Results:
U10 A Drew 1-1 , U11 A Lost 0-7
U10 B Lost 0-4 , U11 B Lost 0-1
