Suzuki Twilight Concert

22nd June 2023

On Wednesday 21st June, we welcomed family and friends of the Foundation for a concert to celebrate the wonderful violin students we have within school. Organised by violin teacher Mrs Goddard, the event was spotlighting students from Years 2-9.

The evening began with three performances by Intermediate Strings, who played three pieces by Edward Elgar.

Next we welcomed onto stage our Year 2 children for the first time. The children were performing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ variations. We would like to extend a massive congratulations to Aizah, Eva, Lawrence, Robin, Sophia and William. They all performed brilliantly and we were all so impressed by their bravery and confidence standing up on stage in front of a big crowd of people, no mean feat!

Following on from this, there were small group performances by Year 2 and 3 violinists, who performed Bile ‘em Cabbage Down and The Boat to Inverie by E.Huw Jones.

We then listened eagerly to our soloists who have been working hard in their music lessons and at home, in preparation for this Concert. Well done to Alana, Arushi, Emilia, FeiFei, Felix, Hanna, Meera, Mimi, Nitya, Patricija, Pippa, Samuel and Valentina for their performances!

We also had the pleasure of listening to our Grade 2 Group perform Minuett, H.Purcell and Where did you sleep last night, Trad Hungarian. Followed by our Junior Group who performed Russian Rumpus, H.Butterworth.

Finally we listened to soloists from the Senior section perform. A big thank you to Edie, Hema, Luke, Rihaam, Yi-Jhen and Zeba for their performances, we know our younger violinists found them very impressive and inspirational.

Thank you to our audience for attending this evening and listening to all our wonderful students, and thank you to Mrs White and Mrs Bentham who played piano accompaniment.
