Our GCSE and A-Level musicians visited the fabulous Bridgwater Hall in Manchester on Monday 16th January, to hear an inspiring concert by the Halle Orchestra, in a potted tour of the development of the orchestra, with special reference made to the set works covered by the various exam boards.  There were performances by young musicians from the Royal Northern College of Music and the chosen repertoire supported our areas of study and was explained and performed beautifully.

For many, this was their first live orchestral concert experience, and the Halle did not disappoint, with some glittering performances starting with the music of Tylman Susato in the renaissance, moving forward through the centuries and ending with music from Wicked and John Williams’s score to Star Wars
