Christmas Festivities

15th December 2022

Christmas is always a special time in school with a wide range of festive activities going on across all years.  We celebrate the season with traditional favourites such as our musical concerts and whole school carol service and enjoy lots of seasonal fun throughout the school day.  Highlights this year have included our Christmas Jumper day with a delicious and nutritious Christmas Lunch, served up in traditional form as well as a veggie option with a contemporary twist – thank you Catering Team !  Our Christmas Cake Club have been working hard on creating some fabulous creations over the past weeks, ready to take home and enjoy as well as donating to our Charity Christmas Fayre for fundraising. Our junior students have also been productively creating their own edible Christmas decorations too.

We believe the best way to learn to lead is to be given the opportunity to lead. Indeed, Christmas is a time when we really see our students shine and show their concern for others in the community.  House Leaders and Charity Leaders have galvanised much support throughout school and led donations to five causes. We are extremely proud of their efforts for Alzheimer’s Society, Tiny Hands, St Catherine’s Food Bank, HAWWA Appeal and Wakefield Hospice.   We are also super proud of Year 8 students who have designed, made and written Christmas cards to local residential homes.  We pair our student charitable giving with developing intellectual understanding of the issues our chosen charities serve.
