This week, it was the turn of Year 9 to come together for our traditional Celebration Assembly: an occasion to reflect on achievements of the previous year and look ahead to the future.
We were delighted to welcome 75 parents to join us for the celebration, starting with breakfast – a wonderful opportunity for
Head Heidi-Jayne Boyes and her team hosted breakfast and welcomed many year 9 parents into Jubilee Hall for an informal catch up before the celebrations began.
Wakefield Girls have a thirst for knowledge, love to learn and celebrating together is an important way to unite each Year Group. Ms Boyes remarked upon the very wide range of achievements of Year 9 students . Commendations for effort as well as year prizes, individual prizes and medals were awarded.
Thank you to alumna Mrs Jo Butterworth, Assistant Director EY, for joining us on this occasion, reflecting upon the impact of her own time in school and handing out the many awards.
Ms Boyes closed the assembly with a reminder to students to see the opportunities that each day brings, make the most of them, learn from them and most importantly, to enjoy their school journey.
