As we enter into our new academic year, our tradition is to celebrate the previous and look ahead to the future. Senior year groups come together for our traditional Celebration Assemblies, a special time to reflect on what has been, celebrate the previous year and look ahead to the future.
Eager to reconnect, Head of School, Heidi-Jayne Boyes, and her team worked with our new caterers to host Breakfast Meetings ahead of Celebration Assemblies. We were delighted to welcome parents to start the day in school, an opportunity to talk informally and also a chance to sample our new catering choices.
Wakefield Girls have a thirst for knowledge, love to learn and celebrating with each year group centres us as a community. Ms Boyes remarked upon all that students have achieved and the many different approaches taken, all united by hard work. Commendations for effort as well as year prizes, individual prizes and medals were awarded.
Ms Boyes closed the assembly with a reminder to students to see the opportunities that each day brings, make the most of them , learn from them and most importantly, enjoy the journey.
So far, we have enjoyed meeting with parents of Year 10, 11 and 13. We look forward to welcoming and talking with parents of students in other years over the next weeks.
