On Tuesday 28th June, Wakefield Girls’ Year 6 students took to the stage in Jubilee Hall for the grand finale of their eagerly anticipated show, Treachery at Traiter’s Quay.
Performed to friends, family and the wider school community this World War II espionage musical told the tale of the Dawson Children who, when evacuated to the Devonshire countryside, set about discovering the identity of a German spy living amongst them. From the dishevelled Home Guard and air-raid wardens to the surly gamekeeper and the retired sea captain no one was beyond suspicion!
With wonderful performances ranging from plenty of well delivered and timed scripts to seven beautiful songs, performed with musicality beyond their years, Year 6 treated the audience to amazing entertainment, rounding off the evening with their energy, sense of fun and camaraderie. They definitely ROCKED IT.
