Welcome new Year 7

22nd June 2022

We were delighted to welcome all students joining us in September for Year 7 with a special Transition Day in Wakefield Girls’ senior section yesterday.  New students from many junior schools and our Year 6 students united as the Class of 2029.

It was wonderful to see everyone together, meeting each other and current students, learning how to ‘survive’ the first few days of a busy term and finding out which House they belong to.  Head, Heidi-Jayne Boyes, talked with everyone about our values: Together, Empowered and Aware and the importance of them.  Fun followed with ice-breakers and activities helping everyone meet each other, create new friendships, speak up and ask questions to help learn about the school and to make sure everyone was included and feeling that they belonged.

What a pleasure it was to see this in full swing today, as we do most days for we truly live these values at Wakefield Girls’.  Congratulations on your readiness new Year 7!
