Following on from National Careers Week, 7th to 11th March, students have been enjoying a host of webinar talks from a remarkable line up of former students. Throughout the week our webinars featured inspiring women and men, all alumni of Wakefield Girls’ and brother school QEGS, in a wide variety of fields, including the healthcare sector, creative industries, business, finance, software and engineering. Alumni joined us from all over the world, including Quito, Denmark and San Francisco.
As well as talking about what their careers involve and training for it, alumni shared specific advice to help students to begin their own preparations in readiness and provided useful resource links.
A key theme of the week was the importance of a broad and forward-thinking view of success and we hope students enjoyed the opportunity to learn about a wide range of inspiring careers from our former students. We were delighted to have had such positive response from our alumni community to Careers INsight 2022. Our thanks go to all alumni who happily and willingly volunteered their time, and shared their experiences with students in this way. It is a valuable and wonderful opportunity for students to hear first-hand about the many experiences of former Wakefield Girls’ and Old Savs, as they themselves begin to plan their next steps after Wakefield Girls’.
