Our Junior students benefit from a wide range of teaching styles in small classes, delivered by both their class teacher and specialist teachers across Music, Languages, and PE (including swimming). Students make use of chromebooks and our outdoor Forest School to support their learning and benefit from a carousel of further specialist teaching in STEM Robotics, Food & Nutrition, Design & Technology, Drama, Textiles and Art to offer opportunity for personal extension. Through this, each student is able to take advantage of the passions, talents and skills of a variety of teachers and become increasingly prepared for the routines of life in our senior section.
Our curriculum is broadened and enhanced with regular class trips, workshops and visits, alongside a residential trip every year which presents fresh challenges and fosters independence.
We encourage students to become leaders and to take on responsibility at the earliest opportunity, developing leadership skills in democratically elected roles. Positions for all students include: Form Captain / Deputy, Games Captain / Deputy, Eco-Monitor, Friendship Buddy, Librarian, Digital Champion, Language Ambassador and Music Ambassador. Our Year 6 students have the opportunity to be elected to the roles of Head Girl / Deputy and Head of House / Deputy.
