WGSF Presents a Production of Arabian Nights

13th May 2025

This adaptation by Dominic Cooke, imaginatively adapts this famous compendium of stories for the stage. At its core is the story of Shahrazad, a clever young woman who marries King Shahrayar, a ruler embittered by betrayal who has been executing his brides after one night. To save herself and others, Shahrazad captivates the king by weaving a series of enchanting stories each evening, leaving him eager for more and postponing her execution. The tales include the story of Ali Baba, The Envious Sisters, The Wife who Wouldn’t Eat and Es-Sindebad the sailor among others.
