After a research career as a toxicologist, specialising in the study of nuclear receptors, Karen now runs the Clinical PD Biomarker group at the Institute of Cancer Research. Highly enthusiastic about the benefits of using pharmacodynamic biomarkers to enhance the success of anti-cancer clinical trials, Karen manages the group in developing and implementing novel assays to detect drug-induced pharmacodynamic changes in Phase 1 clinical trials.
