Year 6 visit Wakefield Cathedral as part of their RPE Curriculum

5th February 2025

Over the past few weeks, Year 6 students have embarked on a valuable learning journey, participating in enriching workshops at Wakefield Cathedral. These sessions supported their RPE curriculum focus on Rites of Passage, providing a unique and inspiring setting for exploration.

The cathedral offered an immersive learning experience, allowing students to gain important insights into how Christianity celebrates significant life events. Pupils actively participated in a variety of workshops, engaging with religious artefacts and even donning religious garments to recreate Christian ceremonies in an authentic setting. This hands-on approach brought the curriculum to life, fostering a deeper understanding of these important traditions.

We extend our sincere thanks to the cathedral staff and Canon Philip for their warm welcome and for further strengthening the long-standing relationship between the Foundation and Wakefield Cathedral.
