Our Year 6 students have been busy this week preparing to launch their small businesses via our very own Hartley Pavilion market place as part of our ‘Tenner Challenge’. Their enterprises and stalls included Froggy Milkshakes, ‘Swish’ basketball challenge, Guess the name of the Teddy bear, design your own gingerbread man, sweet stalls and stationery stalls.
Hartley Pavilion was buzzing with excitement and entrepreneurial spirit as students marketed their products and services, trying to attract as much attention as possible to their stalls. We saw brilliant sales pitches, numeracy skills, team work, negotiation, strong communication and resilience.
In PSHE lessons students decided upon 2 charities to support following their enterprise stalls. They will be donating half of their profits to the RSPCA and the other half to the children’s charity NSPCC.
Total collected: £550.11
Overheads: £183.89
Profit which will be donated to charity: £366.22!
Congratulations to all our Year 6 students on their brilliant efforts – they have worked extremely hard on their enterprise projects for the past two weeks and their efforts have paid off, with substantial funds raised to support two excellent charities.
