We were delighted to welcome Professor A.C Grayling, one of the world’s leading philosophers, to school today when our A Level Religion, Philosophy and Ethics students joined up with their peers at QEGS.
Professor Grayling is Master of the New College of the Humanities, and a Supernumerary Fellow of St Anne’s College, Oxford. He has written and edited over thirty books on philosophy and other subjects and, for several years, he wrote the “Last Word” column for the Guardian newspaper and a column for the Times. He frequently contributes to publications such as the Literary Review, Observer, Independent on Sunday and New Statesman, and is a broadcaster on BBC Radio 4, 3 and the World Service.
Our students were delighted to join Professor Grayling and a number of staff for a buffet lunch, taking the opportunity to ask philosophical questions within a more informal setting before Professor Grayling treated everyone to two Masterclasses relating to topics within the current exam specification, on ‘Religion Vs Science’ and ‘Peace and Conflict’.
With warm thanks to Professor Grayling.
