There was a flutter of excitement in the Junior Section on Wednesday morning as we welcomed some very special guests: Ernie the Owl and the dedicated team from Leeds Hospitals Charity.
The visit provided a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to learn more about the charity’s vital mission. Ernie and the team shared moving insights into how their work supports patients and families during their time in hospital, ensuring that even the most difficult days are made a little brighter with care and comfort.
The highlight of the morning was a truly special announcement. Through various school events and initiatives, our incredible school community has raised over £5,000 for the charity! However, the celebration didn’t stop there. We were absolutely blown away to highlight the individual efforts of Isobel, who has raised over £3,000 through her own incredible dedication and hard work. Together, this staggering total of over £8,000 will go a long way in supporting local families.
To cap off the morning, Ernie even managed to ‘fly’ into several classrooms, providing a delightful surprise for both teachers and pupils mid-lesson. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Leeds Hospitals Charity team for visiting us and, more importantly, for the life-changing work they do every day in our region.
