GCSE Results 2025

Students, parents and staff at Wakefield Girls’ High School, one of the top 10 independent schools in the North, are celebrating today following the release of this year’s GCSE results.

This year, 45% of all grades were at levels 9–7, with over a quarter of grades at 8 or 9. The school is proud to celebrate the achievements of all its students, with numerous outstanding individual performances. In particular, 25 students achieved nine or more GCSEs at grades 9–7, while 37 students were awarded at least one of the coveted grade 9s. Across the full range of ability, many pupils exceeded their benchmark expectations, reflecting their hard work and determination.

Head, Mrs Judith Tingle, shared her pride in the cohort:

“I am so proud of our Year 11 students and all they have achieved. They have shown grit, determination and perseverance, and both students and staff deserve huge credit for their hard work. These results reflect not just academic success but the personal growth and contributions our girls make to the wider school community.”

Notable highlights include:

  • Sharon – achieved a superb set of results with 8 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s.

  • Charlotte and Hema – both achieved 8 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s.

  • Mikaela, Rhiona and Lucy – excelled with all grades at 9 and 8.

  • Saachi – celebrating 7 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s and 1 grade 7; she will be studying English Literature, French, Physics and Maths in the Sixth Form.

  • Nelly, Olivia, Nithursha, Amelia and Alice – each achieved 8 or more grades at level 8 or above.

  • Halima, Georgina, Elizabeth, Sophie, Kaitlin, Simone, Ellie, Rucha, Maryam, Annabel and Eliza – all achieved grades 7–9 in every GCSE.

  • Rhea and Riya – both achieved 9 or more GCSEs at grades 7–9.
