What an amazing day we had at Wakefield Girls’ Junior Section this past Friday, as we proudly celebrated our wonderful students and the incredible Wakefield Girls’ community during our annual Speech Day!
Jubilee Hall was abuzz as everyone gathered to enjoy inspiring speeches and fantastic musical performances. We reflected on a year truly filled with exciting events in sports, music, academics, and a vibrant array of extracurricular activities. We strive to provide an outstanding education, and with so many different activities and trips happening around school – from our amazing sports teams and numerous musical events to Outdoor Education, academic challenges, and drama productions like the recent Year 6 production of ‘Oliver with a Twist’ – our Wakefield Girls’ take part in so much. All these events play a big part in their Wakefield Girls’ school life, allowing them to develop strong friendships, become excellent role models, and grow into confident and empowered young women.
Speech Day is a special occasion for both students and staff, as it’s a moment to recognise the immense dedication each of our students pours into their learning and education. Our celebrations were led by our esteemed guest speaker and Old Girl, Sangeeta Unnikrishnan, who kindly presented our Junior students with their certificates. Our Year 6’s also received their leavers’ books, which are filled with cherished memories and photographs from their time at Wakefield Girls’.Our Junior Section Head Girl team also spoke beautifully, thanking everyone and warmly Congratulating every student for a truly fabulous year!
A happy and empowering education lies at the very heart of our school, and to mark this special occasion, our own alumni serve as the best role models. A heartfelt thank you once again to our special guest speaker, Sangeeta Unnikrishnan, for making the day truly memorable for all.
